HEK005
more October newness coming, this time from Hemlock label head Untold. 6 tracks. 2 plates. 12 inches.
samples are up on the myspace, but if you've been giving any of your time to UK underground music in the last year you'll most likely have heard this guy's sounds doing all manner of damage in raves, on pirates. .
In addition to this - a 12" comprising of the following. . will also be dropping in early October. .
Stop What Your Doing (James Blake Remix)
I Can't Stop This Feeling (Pangaea Remix)
(. .more likely to know the sounds rather than the track names. . )
And if we cast our ears even further afar. .
LV. James Blake. Untold collabs.
but what with the current slow burning James Blake release (Hek004). . we've got plenty to tide us over until then. .

klipkast01
((as I should have mentioned)) here - the klipm0de 09 takeover is going to feature a series of podcasts lovingly put together by the members of the klique.
first up, and already available for consumption is mndsgn's. . .(cop it, and all future episodes, here...)
I had a listen both ways on the commute today.
And. it. bangs.
It's fun. And again it's unique. This isn't just a guy with a few dusty jazz records and some self taught sampling. Not that theres anything wrong with that. . but mnd & these guys are building a sound that's totally their own.
Let mndsgn introduce you. And if you like it then don't, don't forget his debut lights&tunnels

Bravery E.P.

'Going to attempt to fool people with yet another bedroom listening IDM album disguised as a UKG album!!!'
I ripped that from his tweetfeed. How 2009.
But the end result is the same . FaltyDL will be dropping an 8 track EP/Album on Planet Mu come October.
And being on Planet Mu, efficient as they are, the artwork and soundclips are already up on their website. Now when was the last time a label, artists www. was actually useful.
I'm most likely going to sing about this some more when the promo comes through. . . but from the samples. . the bits and pieces of unreleased I've heard about. . and the frequency of releases. . i think it's clear he's one of the most creative and prolific electronic producers around at the moment.

Favourite Recordings specialize in soul music.
I originally meant to comment on them a few months ago. . when I purchased an EP by a one Dwilt Sharpp. but my efficiency is not what it once was - sometimes these things slip past -
Nonetheless. . it was on listening to this EP that I discovered vocalist Lorett Fleur. Very sulky, very sexy. And clearly very pretty.
Today Favourite Recordings have released two of her tracks on a coloured 7".
'Your Best Friend/Look Around'
real beautiful soul music. made just to charm
PURCHASE.
& if you like, check the preceding Dwilt Sharpp EP. . more than worthy of our pennies.

lights&tunnels
been a fan of mindesign ever since I stumbled upon him (and fellow klipmoder's suzi analogue and knxwledge) kicking beats out on a windy afternoon in phillie. Via Ustream of course.
caught up with him the other day and was greeted with the news that he had finally penned something of a deal with recordbreakin (phillie based label). . to release a digital EP that will go by the name 'lights & tunnels' . . I've heard a few pieces. Some from moovmnt.com. And it sounds as if it's going to live up to the promise of his live show. .
A more than worthy release for the klipmode ranks - completely independent sound but a sound that complements the other's sounds so well. Get up on them. . . & watch this space. .
Details of 'lights&tunnels' HERE

I missed this guy when the hype train came round.
Gold Panda - the Miyamae EP.
like boomkat say's; half simian mobile disco / half something a little bit cooler.
still squeaks and bleeps. . . but moves a lot more naturally.

City Limits Vol. 1
Silkie debut is out. Beautifully packaged too - came very close to buying it early but couldn't face taking an extra bag on peak time tube.
Been a mainstay of my nighttime listening. and as a rarity, is a passage of music which can be played start to finish without need to skip or stir.
my most recommended this year to date. . .
on a sidenote, why have people stopped going on about the antisocial rinse show?
anyway,
Support & get the 3x 12 LP for your troubles.

outstanding artwork too. I'm not going to re-hash the details though. I hope some/most of my readership know about factmagazine - they covered it, click the link.
And yeah, zumpi hunter remixes on my day of birth. 24th August. Draw on close of summer.

Commute.
on the 9-5 for the foreseeable future. The underground is getting worse. Hotter, busier and louder. I can just about cope with the sweat. but the noise some of these trains are making is too much.
there are few songs brash and loud enough to be heard over the racket, however the one above usually manages to take me as far as my change to the northern line.
custom made for commuting AND carnival.
