WHAT YOU WAITING ON
Jay this is getting silly. You've got hiphop hanging off your every word and you haven't even made a product yet. No viral videos. No r&b feature joints. No rapper feuds. You haven't even gone over any 808's instrus yet? Are you for real?
Everything feels mighty real.
Please, Please bless us with more.
---> also goes to Just, who just sonned every one with this beat >>>>>>>

like all the boys
another trump card from Mark Ronson's corner, Ellie Goulding.
pop music but with a lot more promise than today's crop. An LP on the way with Burial, Theophilus London, Mark Ronson and a guy called FrankMusik - who is apparently big news somewhere - all making appearances.
watch the video & see whether it fits with who your trying to be

soft spots

three garage/house hybrids on the newly founded well rounded records. Courtesy of Deadboy.
We all have our soft spots - and these tracks hit at least 4 of mine.
sometimes simultaneously,
seriously, don't tease me with this NU garage revival. I missed half of the og garage the first time, I just want that back before we start taking it new places.
sold out at Boomkat. Juno.
weirdly, for something that would sound so good in a dance, this sounds mighty good when home listening too.

MP3: Sean Garrett - Up In Your Heart (Ft. Gucci Mane)
more offcentre r&b from bangladesh, who, when he's not rehashing the A Millie beat, seems to have developed a talent for making average artists sound like r&b gods.
And of course it wouldn't be complete without some garbling from gucci.
And of course I wouldn't be posting it if I didn't think it was big.

predator Mode
nearly ready according to the Wireblock camp.
Roska's refix of the title track will have been heard if you frequent funky in clubs or online... I for one have heard it multiple times without knowing it's source, and can now say it's easily one of my favourite things he's done.
From the snippets on the Wireblock site, Its clear the rest of the EP is going in the same direction. . the type of music thats outgrown most humans vocabularies.
keep eyes open for when it drops -
& bear in mind that Wireblock will soon become part of Nmbrs -

unbalance
2562 has readied another album for the Tectonic imprint. . .definitely feeling influences from the current post-garage mixture that is getting love this and next year. but unlike how much of the material currently masquerading under that label now is 100% geared to tear a club, unbalance maintains the listen-at-home status that his previous album had. Yeah, it'll tear, but you also don't get sick of it if your rinsing it on headphones. A perfect balance I guess. The pun was coming.
You should also make damn sure to check this out - 'Rework/Closer' - just dropped from the same man under a different name.
Album landing 2nd November. And boy, you better not sleeep.

Transform Ya
the return of the repentant Chris Brown. move along if you can't forgive. .
some more commercially facing r&b that will cause all kinds of problems if played to the right dance.
Swizz Beatz & Lil Wayne supporting. & another song that will force me to leave my seat when I visit some more pants 'student culture' university nights. Spare a thought. . .

Glow In The Dark
Kanye with some more merchandise for his fan club - photos from the Glow In The Dark Tour. I caught it in London, and was knocked sideways by the effort that had clearly been put in to making it what it was. Still get a bit misty at the way 'support act' Common was treated while warming up though. . . Probably be next seasons ladygaga in the support slot next year. Then they'll see.

Voice Of Reason
Out of the blue came the news that Shuanise* is to bless us with a 3 track EP (+instrumentals) via the beautifully updated Up My Alley label. And after quickly whoring myself onto the said labels promo list, I was lucky enough to be blessed with some of the music. Think smoky underground jazz clubs, vintage microphones and vinyl crackles. There is bags of soul, and even more promise from what I think is one of todays leading UK talents. .
out pretty soon (can be pre-ordered on RushHour) - but all news will be hitting the UpMyAlley website first. In the meantime, hit soundcloud for full streaming. .

OBCLII Review
We attend the same educational institute, albeit differently, and share many of the same visions on the way music works, and the way we must work to achieve our goals. And a shared penchant for those old school jams... An incredibly interesting person to talk it up with (about whatever...), and a very talented man with the pen - I hope this is the first of many contributions, not just to NDM, but to the www. by my good friend Leke.----------
There comes a time when student becomes teacher and boy becomes man. Growth brings about change and hopefully improvement, if not some degree of continuity. Continuity in quality. For the fan’s sake. Definitely for the Stan’s sake. In the case of martial arts obsessed Wu Gambinos, the hope is that Raekwon, born Corey Woods, goes from a young hungry Daniel LaRusso to a masterly Mr Miyagi. Only Built For Cuban Linx… Pt. II heralds the return of one of the Wu Tang Clan’s most critically acclaimed and revered Karate Kids. The question is: Can he (still) kick it?
Part-time chef, part-time emcee, the indomitable Wu Tang’s Raekwon returns with a mouth watering offering. A long awaited sequel fourteen years in the making. As with all follow-ups the foreboding prospect of sequel syndrome blighting the stellar reputation of a venerated original leaves all loyal fans and respectful admirers jittery with pessimism and skepticism. Cooling out to Rae’s Blood on Chef’s Apron mixtape, all fears were summarily allayed and hushed. The message? Fall back, ease up, unbuckle your belt and set your napkins on your lap - The Chef is cooking. He’s got this.
