Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!
Haha. I'm on a Just Blaze tip. I stumbled across this. Fight(!)
I dunno how to call this one. I love both. Just Blaze is a beast and Al is in my top 5. Food for thought. You do the dishes.

Whose Heard of Othello Woolf?

It's been a twelve months of great names.
Literally.
The dude Othello Woolf wasn't quite a stand out but still has one of those stand out names.
He might just make it a great one for himself in the next twelve.
So hear him out.
Peep game n have a peep at Hispace.

I'd do it all again. #2
particularly as it's now been coupled with an amazing, beautifully cinematic video from Jamie Thraves.
Album --> 26th January
and in the meantime, this guardian interview offers a vivid insight into the making of the album and the influence her husband's tragic death had on her musical direction

beauty from all angles.
I always try and look at 'r&b' in a different way to how it's presented in the charts.
but only as far as disecting the instrumental or plotting what hudmo beats i'd like to see chris brown ride.
thoughts and dreams that are knocked sideways into lameness by this.

thanks to amelia + all the others who, like me, are probably having their listening schedules run by this right now.

Where The Wild Things Are

I have a thing for voices - nasally, gruff, gravelly, silky. Even girls with deep voices. Other guys don't like them. I hunt em. Where The Wild Things Are just happens to have some of the most distinct voices in hollyweird on a film reel. James Gandolfini? Check. Forrest Whittaker, the sound of sad broken wisdom? Check. Gruff, rough Mark Ruffalo? Come on now. Crazy.
In class they say one of the hardest things to do is to write from a kid's perspective. I think it's just as hard to show the world how a kid sees it. The famous book does just that. Spike Jonze does just that. This is very much a film about growing up, for kids and grown ups alike. It's surprisingly dark. It's also got an amazing soundtrack which was written by Jonze's ex-girlfriend, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, with contributions from her bandmates and some members of The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather
Max Records is the coolest entertainment name ever. Max Records is the coolest entertainment boy ever. He might even win an Oscar. He should.
I abso-positively love this movie. It just might be my favourite of 09. One of my favourites ever. Where The Wild Things Are is where i'm at

BEKAWS
KAWS is an NY based artist most people know but just don't know that they do. This is the guy behind numerous magazine covers, BAPE adverts, and the artwork for The Clipse's latest offering - Till The Casket Drops.
A while back I came across this video highlighting the man, his work, and the streets. Street Art.
i-D recently chopped it up with him and released this video

BlakRoc

What do the Black Keys, Mos Def, RZA, Q-Tip, Billy Danze, Nicole Wray, and Jim Jones have in common? Talent. That and the fact that they've come together to form a new supergroup called BlakRoc. With a lil help from our favourite super mogul of the 2000s - Dame Dash
The album is actually out already and is pushing decent numbers but it's really all about the music. They hit the studio on some eleven artists, eleven days, one studio tip. And even had the courtesy to record it all for our viewing pleasure. There are, you guessed it, eleven webisodes and I'll be uploading them time to time. Enjoy.

I.D

Legendary windycity native NO I.D has got somethin bubbling with The Verve's very own Richard Ashcroft. Some may know I.D as the man behind the boards, pushing buttons for the very best of Common's work - I Used To Love H.E.R should ring a bell. I.D is generally hailed as Kanye's mentor and they both worked on Jay's DOA.
They've recorded 20 to 30 songs already. The project is as of yet untitled and might be droppin sometime round April.
