Mos Def

Mos Def did the Carnegie Hall in NY the other night and with the legend Gill Scott Heron next to him it was always going to be pretty special. My dreams could only amount to seeing something like this. .

Rumours are going round that there is audio of the show so that will have to do. As soon as word hits, it'l be on here.

Until then OkP have pictures from the night (special props to Terrence Jennings), and also an mp3. . of Mos' tribute to Jay Electronica. . - And people stop wailing out on Jay Electronica - 'Why don't he drop mixtapes/albums/more songs/youtube videos/trailers to videos?' etc. It ain't gonna come any quicker, and its kinda refreshing that he aint all up in your face with all of the above every time you hit your nahright's.

So hit up OkPlayer.

But the real news, in my humble opinion, is that he seems to have been given the go ahead for a new album - this next bits coming straight from Wikipedia, but the general consensus is that it's coming. Previewing a whole lot of new material at the shows for one.

In recent shows Mos Def has performed new songs from his album, said to be named The Ecstatic. He has shown crowds tracks produced by Madlib and Oh No (Madlib’s younger brother), and is rumored to be going to Al Be Back and Kanye West for new material.
