Dub Pieces

Digital release today. . . Take it as a necessary pick-up if you haven't at alll been involved with these guys sounds before. Next up for 3024 - 2562 12' in December. Whole lotta numbers. Then roll on into 09 for the Martyn full length. I cant even grasp the amount of hours of headphone time that release is going to get. Just listen to 'yet' on his player.

Pips 003 from Appleblims Applepips see's Jus Wan on the buttons with Action Potential/Affletic (on his player) . . I'm not going to classify what exactly it is, but the A side, on first listen, is by far one of the most interesting electronic pieces ive heard this year. Will be watching anything else from this man, and the label, like a hawk.

+ the 3rd installment of Appleblim's rinse podcasts is up.

------

Also worth checking. .

Peverelist - Clunk Click Every Trip/Gather - new on punchdrunk

Scuba - Twitch/Upside - Jamie Vex'd & Martyn on the remixes. 2nd and clearly standout interpretation of 'A mutual Antipathy's' album tracks. Out on Hotflush.

& somewhere or other there is a Beat Pharmacy album available for listening.

Thats alll I can think off going off the top. . . Even if you aren't normally a fan of this sound, go out on a limb and at least try a 30 second promo snippet, or a myspace player. . You'l be surprised at how far some of these artists have brought the music.

3024 003

audio on the myspace - as if you don't know what to expect already.

3024-003

going to wrattle off the carbon copy of what martyn posted on his blog yesterday;

Martyn
"Natural Selection (Flying Lotus' Cleanse mix)"
"Vancouver (2562's Puur Natuur dub)"

3024-003, dist. by ST Holdings
out in September

Will duly remind you when its time to part with the cash :)

The Imperfect Beat

xlr8r went all out on flying lotus with the august issue. .

two very interesting reads.

Talks on Martyn, Mr. Oizo, John Coltrane and Aphex Twin

Brandon Ivers heads to Winnetka to meet the man at his home

(PDF of whole issue)

i've said before, and i'l say again, in the same way that many of us still go out and cop the physical copies of releases, we got to go out and support the magazines that still PRINT.

FlyLo @ The Do-Over (25th May)

Been reading about this party for a while now - all of LA's cool kids meet here every sunday without FAIL.

The line up is allllllways stupidly good. House Shoes / Rhettmatic / Dam Funk / FlyLo / Karriem Riggins to name but a few. .

Well this morning I got hold of (FlyLo Myspace) what I'm guessing is a snippet of (25 Minutes) of FlyLo's set.

MP3: Flying Lotus - @ The Do-Over (May 25th 2008)
(Zshare Mirror)

Some of the beats are far too vicious for breakfast time.

Sweeney Kovar's the authority on this.

FlyLo @ Sonar

Fly-Lo @ Wilsonic, Bratislava

could not resist. . someone on one of those 'closet' dubstep forums posted this up. . Thankyou to them.

Los Angeles

Flying Lotus - Los Angeles came out on Monday. I'm not one to get on the hypetrain (ha) but its that good.

Los Angeles

The new fly Lo is brilliant. This is the obligatory blog posting that one must do.

Taster.... Benji B had a fly Lo deviation special last Thursday evening on 1xtra. LISTEN AGAIN here, to hear the old, the forthcoming and the unreleased. As well as chat with the man himself. Very good listen.

Favourite track at the moment has got to be 'Melt'. Crazy drum pattern.

Visions of Violet. WOAH!
