for me this video completely illustrates the confused state of hiphop. As much as I respect the artists in question, and enjoy the song, I've had to dig deep to try and decipher what is going on in this.

the dancing. either poor attempts to move with what I presume to be 'swagger', or they don't know how to act when the limelight isn't solely on them. one or the other.

particularly when put together with the latest wayne tape, i'm not sure what to think. but of course that could just be because of wayne.

Some people loved “Show Me What You Got” and some people hated it, but from the musical standpoint when you get into the instruments, you can’t hate on that. That record was meant to be performed live. When I made that beat, I didn’t expect it to be the lead single for Jay-Z’s comeback album. I knew Jay was going to be touring with a band, probably Amir and the Iladelhphonics and that was a record that they could rock. That record was going to be a showstopper where the bass section could get busy and the horn section could get busy. If you ever saw that record with a live band performing it then you'll get it if you didn't before.
