How Many Levels?

Love the beat - real laid back . . but the imagery is the real treasure here.

MP3: Nas - Fried Chicken (Ft. Busta Rhymes) (Prod. Mark Ronson)
(Mirror)

Mmm, Fried chicken
Fly vixen
Give me
Heart Disease
But need
You in my kitchen
You a bird, but you ain't a ki
Got wings but you can't fly away from me
Driving in your bucket seats
All the way From Kentucky
To f**k with me
Look what you've done to me?
You Was number one to me!
After you shower
You and your gold medal flour
Then you rub on your hot oil for half an hour
You in your hot tub, I'm looking at you salivating
Dry you off, I got your paper towel waiting
Lay you down cause you're red hot
Louisiana style you make my head rot
Then I flock
To the bed then, "Plop"
When we done, I need rest
Don't know a part of you I love best
Your legs or your breast
Misses Fried Chicken, you gon be a nigga's death
Created by southern black women
To serve massa, guest
You gon be a nigga's death
Misses Fried Chicken
You was my addiction
Dripping wet hot, cholest
Like Greeks with their (filafo?)
Or Italians with their to-mato
Pasta
Or roach is to it's roaster
Trapping me
You and your friend mac and cheese
(Candians?) and collard greens
Cut you knocking me to my knees
Was killing me when I miss, ah
Nothing I need more than a fish fry

You do it to yourself

I adore this. Premo takes Mark Ronsons take on Radioheads Just.
With a hint of Black Poet.

MP3: Mark Ronson - Just Remix (Ft. Black Poet) (Dj Premier Produced)

Stronger

Mark Ronson's just premiered the new Kanye track Stronger.. Guess it's true that kanye wants the album date moved forward.

MP3: Kanye West - Stronger (Radio Rip)

he's relapsing, look how he's rapping..

First heard about this song when I heard Mark Ronson saying some very good things about Jay-Z. . since then it's been my most anticipated release - not because I'm a fan of the original.. but because of this man.

MP3: Amy Winehouse - Rehab (Remix Ft. Jay-Z)

Wrapping up of April..Pt. 2

Other stuff i've been enjoying, but haven't had the time to let you know about it.. in other words, my most played..

My stevie wonder track of the moment.."Another Star".

MP3: Stevie Wonder - Another Star

I love Buzzin Fly record label. This song is probably my favourite to come from them, off the 2005 release "Outspoken Part 1". It's by Ben Watt (half of Everything but The Girl), with guest vocals from Estelle. Keep checking the website for new releases, or catch up on what you've missed from the label at beatport. Its summertime house with soul...

MP3 - Ben Watt - Pop A Cap in Yo Ass (Ft. Estelle) (Edit) Highly Highly Recommended.

In case You missed me going on about it before, make sure you set aside a tenner to buy Wiley's new album "Playtime Is Over"... Out June 2nd. Promo track and track by track album review, here. Boy can that guy spit....

Total Science (See Post Coming), Matrix / Futurebound have both been big on my most played list this month, but as far as drum and bass goes.. the month belongs to a track i was passed a while ago but it just passed me by. The original, i must admit, isnt a favourite of mine, mainly because Ghostface's rapping voice doesn't sit with me, but for the summer, Ne-Yo's voice sits perfectly on the bed provided by DJ Marky&Bungle. Watch out for both of these two...

MP3: Ghostface Killah & Ne-Yo - Back Like Dat (DJ Marky & Bungle Remix)

As far as Drum and Bass goes, also check out Alix Perez.. for the soulful side... Should hear about him pretty soon from me. .

Good Music Friday

This first surfaced back in september O6. It's by Sonar Kollektiv duo Ame. And has to be one of my favourite minimal tracks ever. Whereas minimal can get a bit boring, this certainly doesn't. And while I lost sight of the track for a few months, I was reminded of its greatness this week when i was down town in some trendy clothes shop and heard it come over the speakers. I found I was unable to keep still. Pastaboys remix is also a beauty. But just incase you have never heard the track il drop it here for you, if you like, you can buy it here. And yes I seriously recommend you do. Another recommendation, i also suggest you grab the "Ame...Mixing" that they released last year also. Its also available at Phonica. Perfect to fall asleep to.

MP3: Ame - Rej

While I'm here I might as well push you in the direction of Mark Ronson's Album, which has recently reached me. Firstly, you might want to check out Theserockspop for two cuts from the album and a Dirty South remix off the CDS version of his latest single "Stop Me".

After a first listen, the track that has probably stuck with me so much is his take on scouse indie band the zutons "Valerie" bringing in none other than Amy Winehouse on vocals. I'm not usually a massive fan of her's but I have to admit she nails it here.
Make sure you cop the album here.

MP3: Mark Ronson - Valerie (Ft. Amy Winehouse)

I'l leave you with this track by Calvin Harris. Who in many peoples eyes is the new mylo. I believe he's scottish as well. Well.. i actually prefer this track to the single he released "Acceptable in the 80's". He's been asked to do production on the new Kylie album, as well as releasing his own album due sometime in June. Check for updates on its release here and at his myspace. Currently on tour with Faithless.

MP3: Calvin Harris - Colours

Anyway, thats about it for this morning. Should be posting even more in the next few weeks as il be drawn to it in any free time I get during the easter break. Enjoy yourselves.
